Introduction to EndoPhlebex Technologies, Inc.
EndoPhlebex has developed a surgical device for the removal of varicose veins using an ambulatory surgery routine. Twenty (20) percent of the world population suffers from chronic venous insufficiency and of those undergoing invasive treatment, roughly 38% experience recurrence of the disease. Currently the great or small saphenous veins are stripped from the leg using a rigid cable and an “olive”. The cable is fed through the insufficient saphenous vein and pulled out through the skin line with an olive shaped attachment, that mechanically and traumatically separates the vein from its feeder branches and perforators, removing it from the body. EndoPhlebex has designed a device to remove the insufficient saphenous vein under vision or in combination with intravascular ultrasound. Once the surgeon has separated the diseased vein, it is removed from the leg using a new EndoPhlebex vein stripper. Post surgical pain treatment and reduced trauma along with proper removal of diseased tissue allow this technique to emerge as the superior choice for the treatment of varicose veins. This design concept is protected under US and International patents and there are no other competitors in this particular market space. The energy and blind stripping techniques each have limitations that will be revealed as EndoPhlebex launches the new Kit for Endovascular Venous Surgery.
